A Perfect Circle - Weak and Powerless [Tilling My Grave Mix]
A remix of the song was made, entitled "Weak and Powerless (Tilling My Grave Mix)" and featuring instrumentation by Danny Lohner, Wes Borland, and Josh Eustis. This version is significantly heavier than the album version and was featured in the soundtrack to Underworld and The Invisible. Borland told Cleveland Radio station 100.7 The Buzzard in an interview at the time of the soundtrack's promotion that he and Lohner wrote the remix by putting the song up in Pro Tools and stripping away everything but Maynard's vocals, leaving the three of them to write new music around the vocals.

I just realized a couple of days ago what a musical genius Maynard James Keenan is.

Straight up the anthem of my former marriage. This song came out the year my ex started >really< acting up after having our first (and as I saw fit, only) child. After nearly two decades of mental and emotional abuse (culminating in my daughter self-harming and planning her “self-deletion” at 13 years old) I took matters into my own hands and escaped with my child. Spent every penny I had fighting off the vindictive custody suit that woman filed after she realized my child wanted nothing to do with her. The only reason I came out on top is because my ex was so uncooperative, so horrible, even her own lawyer only lasted two weeks. During the final moments of the hearing after she was forced to drop the suit, the lyrics of this song, which I hadn’t heard in a decade, rang out in my mind like a gunshot in an enclosed room… “Someday I will walk away and say, you f-ing disappoint me, maybe you’re better off this way…” We did it. After 19 years of pain and suffering, my daughter and I are now happy and healing. PSA to men, don’t let the system beat you down, fight to the last. Even when the odds are rigged and insurmountable, FIGHT HARDER. There is no defeat as long as you draw breath.
